Porsche Club of America plans massive gathering in 2017
The Porsche Club of America has announced that it plans to
have a major new gathering on the East Coast in 2017 with
the inaugural Werks Reunion Amelia Island on Friday, March
10, during the famous Amelia Island Concours weekend.
All Porsche owners are invited to display their cars at the
event. Membership in PCA is not required. Simply sign up on
WerksReunion.com when registration opens. Those who want
to compete may enter their cars in either people’s choice or
concours categories, and winners will receive special, one-ofa-kind
trophies.
Werks Reunion is open to all and free for spectators.
Attendees may expect a field of 500 stunning Porsches,
product vendors, camaraderie of fellow car enthusiasts, the
latest Porsche models, special presentations, celebrity guests,
and a surprise or two.
PCA will host the event with sponsorship from Hollywood
Wheels Auctions & Shows and participation from Porsche
Cars North America. Club sponsors will also be present with
exhibits and displays.
For the past three years, Werks Reunion has taken place in
Monterey, California, giving car enthusiasts a free, all-Porsche
car show during Monterey Car Week. PCA is excited to offer
the event at Amelia Island, and share our passion for Porsche
on the East Coast.

Porsche Museum takes a road trip
Porsche’s Museum has created a new special exhibit that
puts the museum on the road and in front of more Porsche
enthusiasts. The new exhibit, “Roadbook. The Porsche
Museum on the road around the world,” takes viewers behind
the scenes at the museum.
Cars in the official museum’s collection are not just displayed
in Stuttgart but also exhibited around the world as brand
ambassadors and ‘Roadbook’ is giving visitors a glimpse
behind the scenes for the first time: from vehicle deployment
planning to appearances by celebrity drivers and preparing
tours, fans of the brand can get an impression of the strategic
and logistical challenges.
Each year the museum handles more than 200 vehicle
deployments in more than 30 countries. The exhibition
includes images showing the transport and logistics for the
displays as well as informing about technical preparations and
follow-up tasks for all the models in the collection.
One of the attractions is a 1966 911, which was photographed
around the world and in front of the planet’s most famous
landmarks during 2013. Other highlights include the 911
Carrera RSR which took part in the Targa Florio on Sicily, the
911 SC Targa, a competitor in the “Top City Classic China
Rally”, and the 356 A 1600 Speedster, which toured the coast
roads on the west coast of America as part of the “California
Mille”.
This special exhibition also explains the concept behind the
Porsche Museum. Every week the cars in the collection are
exchanged as a result of the global deployments, with the new
arrangements giving visitors an ever-changing image. This
vitality and diversity is what makes the Porsche Museum one
of the most intriguing places to visit; the vehicle collection
stretches back to the brand’s very beginnings in the 1950s –
from electric cars from the early 20th century through to motor
racing vehicles from the current season. The collection also
has prototypes, studies and regular production models.
The new ‘Roadbook’ special exhibition will run through April
23, 2017 with the Museum being open from Tuesday to
Sunday.
